Spring Into Summer With Some FREE Patterns

Spread the love

The Spring Into Summer Blog Hop, running from May 1 to June 2, will feature more than 30 FREE crochet patterns!

Do you want free crochet patterns to get you ready for warmer months? The process is pretty simple, and I’ll walk you through it below. If you don’t want to bother with the effort to get the daily pattern downloads, you can also purchase the entire pattern bundle for only $15.99 to get instant access as early as April 30 to all 33 patterns (a $150 value!). Just click on the image below to buy the bundle, skip the hassle, and support the makers involved in the blog hop.

Wanting to Blog Hop?

If you want to hop around the blog hop to get all 33 patterns for free, keep listening! It’s not too complicated, and only takes a couple minutes to get the daily featured pattern. Basically, you first go to the host’s blog, where you scroll down to the pattern offered for the day. The host blog will have a coupon code for (or instructions to download) the free pattern, as well as a link for the featured maker’s blog. Go to the maker’s blog, find the link to the pattern page, and download your free pattern according to the instructions/coupon code you received!

I recommend bookmarking the host’s blog post (or leave your tab open on your computer like I do) so you can come back every day! There are a couple different host’s throughout the blog hop, but I will make sure to update my links to be the current blog hop host the entire time.

From May 1-11, Sarah of Ned and Mimi is hosting the blog hop. May 12- 22 will be hosted by Hannah of Han Jan Crochet. And to finish off the blog hop, head over to Itchin’ for Some Stitchin’ from May 23-June 2 for Raelynn’s round up blog.

There is also a giveaway hosted by WeCrochet associated with this blog hop! WeCrochet generously provided the yarn for the designs of this event.

The giveaway will be through Rafflecopter, the links to which can be found on the hosts’ round up blog posts (linked above). There will be 5 winners who will each receive a copy of the bundle (or a refund if they already purchased it) and one of the winners will get a Premium Winding Station Tool Kit from WeCrochet!

Time to Hop!

What are you waiting for? Head over to the current round up post to download your free pattern for the day!

Sweet Pea Small Shawl- June 1

The Sweet Pea Small Shawl is an experiment with color and shaping within the realms of the Sweet Pea collection textures. Clustered stitches give a subtle squish throughout that showcases variegated and speckled yarns, and the picot mesh sections break up the clusters for some contrast. This shawl is shaped in an asymmetrical triangle and uses a unique loop and button closure to hold the shawl in place on the neck. This pattern is a great way for you to experiment between fading two colors together in a simple yet interesting shape.

This asymmetrical triangle shawl is made in one piece, from one point and working across, ending with a small loop that is used for attaching the shawl for wear around the neck. There are three cluster sections, with a picot mesh section in between cluster sections 1 and 2 and again between cluster sections 2 and 3. C1 and C2 provide a subtle fade across the shawl, with C3 serving as a contrast when used in the picot mesh sections.

This pattern uses fingering weight yarn, approximately 890 yards total, approximately 350 yards each of C1 and C2, and 190 yards of C3. I used WeCrochet Hawthorne Speckle Fingering in the colors Cobbler Speckle (C1), Surprise Speckle (C2), and Andromeda Speckle (C3). I used a US G/ 4.0 mm hook (one of my favorites!) and the small shawl measures approximately 53″ in wingspan and 21″ in depth.

I loved getting to experiment with the loop closure on this design. Playing with shapes is something I really enjoy as I design shawls that are just a little bit different than what you have already seen. You just tuck the skinny end of the shawl into the loop and pull it tight around your neck to cinch it into place. All you need is a one inch button and you have a built-in shawl pin!

I can’t wait to see how you experiment with your own color palette as you make this shawl! This pattern is available on Ravelry and Etsy. Get the coupon code found on Itchin’ for Some Stitchin’ blog so you can download your pattern for free from Ravelry on June 1, then click the button below to be taken to the pattern page on Ravelry. If you do not use Ravelry, just email me the coupon code at crowchetcreations@gmail.com and I can get the pattern PDF to you another way.

Happy making!

XO, Emily
